The primary role of this position is to support the mobility program directly on the nursing floor. Performs mobilization of patients under the supervision of the rehabilitation services and nursing departments. Performs routine tasks and assists therapists during patient treatment activities as directed.
· Participates in lifting, transferring, and ambulating patients.
· Practices safe patient handling skills and ergonomics.
· Utilizes transfer devices and tools to assist in mobilization of patients
· Utilizes safety awareness to self, patients, others, and environment.
· Communicates and collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary team
· Performs both clerical and effective computer skills.
· Performs setup and cleanup of treatment area including appropriate equipment and supplies.
· Performs mentoring and training of new technician staff.
· Performs all other duties as requested by the manager.
