Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Rehabilitation Attendant.
In this role, the successful candidate assists in the delivery of Therapy services as indicated for all rehabilitation disciplines e g Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy.
Job Responsibilities:

Patient transportation: Transports patients upon request according to safety and departmental guidelines. Clerical and reception activities: Answers the telephone and takes messages accurately. Maintains records and files correctly in each area as needed. Performs errands promptly upon request. Surveillance of environmental conditions: Follows established procedures for safety and emergencies. Follows infection control procedures. Follows pest control procedures. Identifies potential hazards and takes appropriate action. Maintenance of supplies equipment and the unit: Monitors the level of inventory and notifies the Supervisor if additional supplies are needed. Maintains all therapy equipment by ensuring the equipment is kept clean and in good working condition. Makes recommendations for the repair or replacement of equipment. Prepares the unit for treatment by keeping it clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards. Assists in treatment: Follows the instructions given by the Therapist or the Therapist Assistant. Follows the progressive resistive exercise programs established by the Physical Therapist safely and accurately. Follows tilt table and positioning guidelines. Renders proper ambulation training under the direction of the Therapist of Therapist Assistant; this includes providing appropriate guarding techniques verbal and simple tactile cueing; assisting patients in ambulation in the parallel bars on level surfaces in standing balance and weight shifting activities; and assists in travel training. Administers hydrotherapy safely following departmental guidelines. Application of transfer activities: Advises and prepares the patient for the transfer. Utilizes the proper techniques and body mechanics. Maximizes the patients potential to assist in the transfer. Application of cold and/or heat modalities: Administers cold packs, hot packs, and paraffin to the patient as part of their treatment program. Applies and removes the modality. Applies the modality in accordance with the length of time specified by the Therapists instructions. Follows established departmental procedures and takes safety precautions in the use and application of the various modalities. Patient Preparation: Assists the patient in preparation for and at the conclusion of treatment. Maintains the patients safety and comfort by following procedural and safety guidelines. Monitors the patients personal care and environment constantly assists the patient with toileting needs when indicated. Utilizes the appropriate supplies and equipment in relation to the type of treatment being administered following departmental safety guidelines. Assists the patient in dressing and undressing with appropriate supervision.Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to communicate well with staff and patients and follow instructions.

High School Diploma

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,154.77 – $50,953.85 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
