BUDD Day Treatment is designed to meet the mental health needs of the developmentally disabled person in our community as well as the concerns of his/her family and support system.  It is a program that helps individuals who are experiencing psychiatric illness and/or behavioral disturbances. 

Responsibilities:

Organize and lead social skills and coping skills groups centering on concentration on tasks, interpersonal relationships, vocational skills and personal issues.

Provide a safe environment and help teach social, emotional and ADL skills to clients.

Coordination of client services with program staff and other members of the client treatment team

Complete documentation in a timely manner

Attend and participate in assigned staff meetings and trainings.

Client crisis intervention

Perform other related professional duties required in order to provide quality clinical programming.

Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors. 

Qualifications:

Grade Rehab Counselor I: C02: Requires HSD/GED/HiSet, Associate preferred.  

Grade C04: Rehab Counselor II - Requires a Bachelor’s degree; preferably in the field of psychology or human services.

Experience in psychosocial rehabilitation model preferred

Knowledge of the rehabilitation process, including vocational, social and community living skills.

Current valid US issued driver's license and ability to provide a registered, inspected, insured automobile for work related purposes including travel between work sites.

General Purpose of the Job:                                   

Facilitate work adjustment and social groups with consumers with persistent mental illness and/or mental retardation.  Ensure that optimal skill teaching and support is given thereby enhancing the quality of life for our consumers.  Facilitate implementation of the rehabilitation plans.  Duties listed below are more specifically defined.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Organize and lead social skills and other Day Rehabilitation groups in a program setting centering on concentration of tasks, interpersonal relationships, and personal issues.  Developing vocational skills. Intervene with clients in crisis situations offering support and assistance. Revise, negotiate, write and help consumers carry out goal-oriented rehabilitation plans to increase their social and daily functions. Keep accurate records as assigned including rehabilitation plans and progress notes. Assist other rehabilitation staff in program development and improvements so that consumer's needs are met in the most efficient way possible. Orient new consumers to program and group experiences. Maintain accurate inventory of supplies as directed. Work cooperatively with other departmental staff, and other providers of service, to assure coordination of care and accurate communication of client related matters. Attend and participate at all assigned meetings and training. Perform other related professional duties required in order to provide quality clinical programming.                                         

Competency:                                                

Knowledge of the process of rehabilitation, including vocational, social and community living skills. Ability to effectively apply this process in 1:1 interventions and group settings.

Education and/or Experience:                                            

Experience in Psychosocial Rehabilitation Model preferred.

Counselor II; Bachelor’s degree in related Human Services field.
