Relationship Bankers are responsible for identifying customer needs and matching them with the appropriate bank products and services to enhance a current or prospective customer’s satisfaction, loyalty, and financial well-being.  Utilizing proactive sales/service efforts coupled with the recognition of referral opportunities, Relationship Bankers will deepen customer relationships while also processing a variety of cash and non-cash transactions.

Responsibilities Identify customer needs and make the appropriate referrals through proactive sales/service effortsService, sell, and cross-sell deposit accounts, loan products, insurance products, cash management services, etc.Continually safeguard the bank’s assets and security of the working environment while processing transactions accurately (deposits and withdrawals for transaction accounts, collection items, wire transfers, credit card transactions, and loan payments)Maintain and balance a cash drawer. Abundant cash handling is expectedOpen, close, and maintenance accountsMust achieve sales and referral goals quarterly while providing excellent customer service and utilizing opportunities to transform service into salesMaking outreach calls to customers and/or prospectsMeet and greet public in a professional manner that reinforces Trustmark’s service standardsAll work must be performed within the bank’s guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of performancePotentially manage, coach, and provide training for other Relationship Bankers and/or Tellers; manage scheduling and overtime, conduct required meetings, jointly complete performance appraisals, and delegate additional duties as requiredProcessing oversight and responsibility to review/approve various transactions, such as night drop contracts/logs, ATM deposits, collection items, money orders, official checks, and cash drawersPotential for cash shipment and vault managementPotential for loan origination responsibilities and administration thereofPerform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is requiredAbility to meet sales goals in a retail environmentBasic computer skills and the ability to learn internal technology systems to perform work tasksUnderstanding of basic math concepts and principlesMust pass appropriate assessment testsStrong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and writtenTime management skillsDetail oriented – must be able to process transactions accurately and efficientlyStrong and exceptional customer service and sales skillsAbility to display professional appearance and mannerismsExperience in maintaining and balancing a cash drawer preferredMinimum twelve (12) months face-to-face customer service experienceMinimum twelve (12) months sales experienceExceptional customer service and sales skillsFour-year college education or equivalent work experience preferredSupervisory experience preferredWorking knowledge of the banking industry and its processes preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens. Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds in order to process boxed or bagged coins.
