OverviewWe are currently seeking a Relationship Manager for our Downtown Office. This individual will be responsible for all phases of relationship marketing and management. They will examine, evaluate, authorize or recommend approval of customer applications for commercial loans. Responsible for underwriting, credit monitoring and portfolio management of Commercial Banking relationships to achieve efficiencies and quality of the process and product, retention and expansion of existing client relationship, growth of total client assets and net growth in relationships. Primary performance responsibilities include analyzing financial data to determine the merits of loan requests, recommending structure, as well as identifying cross selling/referring opportunities of other deposits services.
Responsibilities Develop relationships with middle market/commercial customersManage and maintain existing customer relationshipsNegotiate approved terms conditions with borrowersAcquire qualified referrals from existing clients and investorsCross sell Bank products and servicesBuild successful relationships with retail banking partnersAdvise loan manager of external factors that may affect establishment lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulationsRecommend and implement appropriate changes to establish policies and proceduresManage and lead team of relationship managers and support staffOther duties as assigned will include the following:Analyze and create financial loan write-ups to generate new loans.Ensure compliance with EWB, regulatory and credit requirements.Assist in accurately risk rating loans/credits.Develop problem loan credit solutions.Work with credit analyst in reviewing existing creditsPerform other administrative duties required for the maintenance of a portfolio of clientsEnsure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established EWB credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines.As appropriate to experience, co-manage commercial relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommend structure as well as aggressively managing the client relationshipPartner with the Relationship Manager as the point of a contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the Credit Department, the Commercial support staff and other internal business partners.Monitor loan repayment activities and financial condition of borrowing clients and take necessary action to collect past due accounts and ongoing repayment ability of all other accounts. May assume overall responsibility for the credit quality of the loan portfolio.May make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank’s Loan Approval Process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits.Manage the renewal process by working with the Relationship Manager the client and the credit department.May act as a contact manager for non-borrowing accounts and loan clients for matters relating to other banking services.Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank within the region’s marketplace.Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and directly related experience.Has 4 plus years of banking experience with a minimum of 1-2 years of direct portfolio management experience. Demonstrates strong underwriting and projection skills.Has strong understanding of credit policy and procedures and is able to accurately risk-rate loans/credits, evaluates both cash-flow and collateral-based loans/creditsDevelop problem loan credit solutions.Has strong knowledge base in Treasury, FX and Derivative products and have demonstrated abilities in coordinating the resources of the back to bring effective full service solutions to the company.Excellent interpersonal skills with focus on quality and integrity.Minimum of 10 years of direct portfolio management experience.Strong Finance background and knowledge base in Treasury, FX, and Derivative products.Proven sales track record and strong negotiation skills Compensation The base pay range for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $125,000.00/Yr.
