What you will do:

The Relationship Manager (RM) supports large and not for profit plans with assets valuing approximately 50m to 250m. Incumbent acts as the central point of business contact for assigned client “plan sponsor” relationships for both clients and internal personnel. The RM is accountable for assigned client relationships that includes overall service delivery, evaluating, improving and managing client satisfaction and risk / retention efforts, and client P&L management. Ensures satisfaction in order to retain clients, support clients in meeting retirement plan goals.Responsible for the relationship management of large and non-profit plans with an asset value typically ranging from 50 to 250 million. Responsible for maintaining client relationships by identifying solutions to enhance overall satisfaction, actively reducing risk of client loss and improving the financial viability of client relationships.This includes both enhancing revenue and working with internal partners to improve plan relationship efficiency. Ability to effectively report to management across key focus areas is critical to the success of this role.Responsible for consistently reinforcing the large and non-profit clients’ buying decision and strengthening overall client relationships.Conduct client meetings, working with internal SMEs and the service team, to bring Empower’s best thinking to clients in the areas of plan design, funding, administration, participant communications, compliance, fiduciary governance and industry trends. Responsible for representing the participant communications strategy to the client and building it into their annual plan for clients under $150mDeliver periodic plan statistical, regulatory/legislative, and industry trending presentations to clients – both via phone and in person.  Work with the client service team to develop, present to the client, and implement client business planning deliverables. Participate in new business finals presentations and client site visits building rapport with clients and managing client expectations beginning with the sales process and continuing throughout the relationship.  Has a good understanding of client needs, and aligns those needs to business plans.  Demonstrates knowledge of the company’s products and services.  Ability to travel to client / prospective client meetings, internal team/SME/leadership relationship development or training is central to the role.Role requires understanding of revenue and expense variables associated with client relationships, with goal of enhancing revenue where appropriate​.Evaluating and Managing Client Satisfaction:Ability to ascertain both the obvious and not so obvious signs of satisfaction / dissatisfaction and effectively work to positively influence client perspective.Relationship Penetration Expertise:Developing as deep and as broad a relationship with clients / advisors as possibleDefining & Execution Specific Client Retention StrategyDefining & Assessing the Reasons for Client Risk:Understanding how / why we look at and evaluate client risk statusUnderstanding “Provider”, “Client” & “Industry” RisksIdentifying and working with key internal and external partners to retain clientsOrganizational Navigation:Understanding who to go to in order to get things done for a client and the organization.Knowledge and ability to navigate governance structure i.e. Business Acceptance CommitteeEffective Communication & Presentation Skill:Effectively communicate ideas / messages in a clear and succinct mannerAbility to articulate Empower value proposition, participant and plan sponsor experience, and relationship management value propositionKeeping the Organization InformedTimely, effective and comprehensive management reportingUnderstanding the Competitive Environment and What Differentiates Empower from Our CompetitionSelf-Improvement - Importance of introspection and focus on personal developmentStrong Team and Business Leadership Characteristics:Working independently and being resourcefulEffective time managementEffective Project ManagementCritical thinking and decision makingBusiness Ownership - Making decisions and looking at one’s portfolio as a “sole proprietor” would.Acumen specific to client P&L Management:Understanding and being conversant on revenue and expense variables associated with client relationships.Ability to Work Effectively with Internal Parties to Identify, Strategize and Deliver on Financial GoalsUnderstanding of capital markets and Empower proprietary investment management products and servicesAbility to plan for, negotiate and effectively manage contract renewal process in timely manner.

What you will bring:

Base Salary Range

$109,600.00 - $158,950.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
