Relay Technician Sr

If you enjoy serving local communities and making positive impacts to the real world using your technical knowledge and skills, We have an opportunity for you as a Relay Technician. In this position you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of protective relays and related equipment. You will work with a team of experienced technicians to ensure the reliability of our electric grid.

You will be trusted to:

- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and systems.
- Install, maintain, and test protective relays and other electrical equipment.
- Provide technical support to other LCRA employees and customers.
- Maintain and update knowledge of electrical protection testing principles and practices.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Meet all safety and quality standards

You qualify with:

- Five or more years of experience in the construction and/or maintenance of power substation protection, diagnostic, monitoring and/or control systems or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver’s license

You are a great fit with:

- Commissioning and maintaining protective devices in electric transmission substations operating above 69kV.
- Electro-mechanical and microprocessor based protective relays.
- Use of Doble F6150 test sets and Enoserv RTS testing software.
