What is the Opportunity?

Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

What will you do?

Define and implement best practice Release Management Strategy, Policy, and end to end release procedures for HR IT SAP and WD integration.

Act as the central point of contact for all Release activity within HR IT, while keeping a consistent release framework and process for all projects/programs.

Strong technical Knowledge to support and drive implementation of release automation and SRE Tools.

Work closely with the Environment Manager & technical teams to ensure a successful & appropriate path to live.

Ensure that release packages are delivered with the correct level of due diligence in line with the defined framework.

Organize, direct and manage releases through development, test, and production environments via the route to live for BAU and Projects.

Co-ordinate resources from various technical areas; IE Application Support, DBA, Infrastructure, Operations, and other technical teams to deliver the required release objectives.

Work closely with Change Management to ensure Change processes and governance are adhered to and support the presentation of that holistic release at the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Technical understanding of:  SAP, Workday  

Expertise in ITIL, Change Management, Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with release automation tools (Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, Ansible, ServiceNow Change Management, etc)

Demonstrable experience as an Enterprise Release Manager in a multi team, multi-application/product environment.

Significant experience working in multiple software projects throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle.

Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with technical & non-technical colleagues at all levels. including business stakeholders & 3rd parties.

Nice-to-have

Project Management qualification desirable but not essential.
