Overview
The role provides direct support to the Senior Release Manager and is responsible for ensuring best practices and processes are followed for deploying updates to our current suite of applications as well as the delivery of new services into live. This role will require you to work collaboratively with numerous teams ranging from business representatives to technical IT operations teams. This role will also ensure the principles of effective change and release management are followed, all associated practices are effective, and meet the demands of an organisation that is driving to be more agile in the delivery of services. This role requires flexibility and availability on the working hours.
Responsibilities
Operate the end-to-end Release Management process for all major and minor deployments. Develop and maintain the release schedule, collaborating with development teams, operations, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure release plans align with business goals and priorities. Create, maintain, and communicate the release calendar whilst tracking updates and analysing their impact/risk level to up and downstream systems. Establish and maintain mechanisms for reporting on release progress, including metrics, dashboards, and other KPIs. Act as the primary point of contact for all production release and change requests, assessing all requests to ensure they are sufficiently defined, risk assessed and ready for presentation at the Change Approval Board (CAB) meetings. Conduct Post Release Reviews following all major release and create a plan for any improvement initiatives. Complete regular audits to ensure compliance with the Release Standard, escalating any incidents of non-conformity. Drive continual improvement to maintain/improve the effectiveness, including proposing and implementing any enhancements of the process. Support the Senior Release Manager, demonstrating financial awareness, effective people engagement and adherence to the Chubb compliance framework.Qualifications
Proven experience in an established IT Service Management function. Preferably in Release or Change Management but experience in Incident (including ServiceDesk), Problem or Configuration Management with good exposure to Release and Change Management areas will be considered. Experience and good knowledge of ITIL v4 including foundation certification would be beneficial.Project Management experience with exposure to project reporting and demand/capacity monitoring would be advantageous.Experience with any ITSM tool (ServiceNow, FreshWorks, BMC, TopDesk etc.) is vital. Agile/SCRUM Software Development experience preferred. Ability to process information, generate detailed analysis, and automate tasks utilizing Microsoft Power Platform would be highly desirable but not essential.Experience in communicating with all levels of both business and IT teams. Strong ability to multitask and to work tasks without daily supervisor interaction. Self-starter – Proactive, investigative, and willing to challenge assumptions.
