Job Description:

RELEASE MANAGER

CCJ6-DCIO Release Management protects the IT infrastructure and its

associated services by controlling deployment to the production environment

while minimizing disruption to operations. CCJ6-DCIO Release Management

provides oversight for release planning, validation and testing, formal

implementation reviews, release packages, cybersecurity deliverables, and

waivers/approvals as required prior to deployment. The CCJ6-DCIO Release

Manager works with CCJ6 stakeholders to maximize client satisfaction with IT

framework systems by continuing to adhere to support the mission of

USCENTCOM, preserving the integrity and availability of production systems

while deploying new software and hardware through the following:

(1) Providing oversight for release management processes and procedures,

establishing working groups for release processes and improvements, as

applicable.

(2) Completing reviews of tests plans for Governance, Risk, and Compliance

related activities.

(3) Attending the IT CAB, technical reviews, CCBs, and project meetings, as

applicable.

(4) Coordinating with the technical SMEs responsible for testing to

determine the type of release and ensuring there is minimal impact on

current services within the organization.

(5) Defining the release scope, criteria, resources, and stakeholders needed

for rollout and establishing a plan of action for scheduled delays.

(6) Ensuring Hardware/Software (HW/SW) Package and Release Plan Checklists

are completed, and changes are thoroughly documented to clearly identify the

type of release. Assisting with pilot deployments, as applicable.

(7) Calculating release metrics, creating reports, identifying trends, and

communicating results, as applicable.

(8) Communicating the rollout and rollback plans and creating AARs in

conjunction with deployment for failed releases, as required.

(9) Establishing release process training plans with the training

department.

(10) Ensuring release coordinators are working effectively across the CCJ6.

Job Qualifications

Skills: Change Management (CM), Management Process, Strategic Planning.

BMC Remedy, and Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

Desired: Service Now

Experience:

years of Release Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, and IT

Asset Management experience.

years of experience managing meetings and facilitation skills.

3-5 years of experience working in a process driven organization.

Proven ability of excellent documentation and report writing abilities and experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technology or business-related field.

Certifications: Security +.

Security Clearance: TS/SCI level clearance is preferred (must be active/current), Secret at a minimum.

The likely salary range for this position is $92,331 - $120,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
