Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer will provide technical and organizational support and leadership to the Engineering Department in order to optimize maintenance activities, improving Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) as well as implement systems and best practices. This role will manage the spare parts process and work closely with EHS, Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities to ensure proactive measures are being taken to ensure continuous improvement and improved reliability in systems and equipment. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following… Provide reliability engineering for maintenance and facilities by collecting and analyzing equipment performance data, develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs / reliability centered maintenance program / run to failure. Implement Maintenance Excellence initiatives as recommended by GSKBIO Global Technical Services to harmonize maintenance systems across the division. Act as the site key contact for Maintenance Excellence initiatives. Communicate site maintenance best practices transversally and cross-culturally. Gather data on equipment/facility problems and document results in reports to identify the cause of the problem as well as implement the necessary corrective actions. Utilize SAP to track system/equipment performance. Develop and implement continuous improvement systems for maintenance and facilities, targeting asset maintenance cost. Utilize reliability processes like FMECA’s to ensure robust maintenance programs. Prepare technical documentation that identifies the need for, cost evaluation of, specifications for, activation of, functional and safety analyses of, maintenance of and operator training for the specific set of assigned equipment or requirements for new equipment assigned to the group. Develop risk-based inspection program for the site’s pressurized systems. Manage the spare parts process at the Marietta Site. Responsible for evaluating and predicting process/systems performance to achieve the greatest asset utilization at the lowest total cost in support of value creation initiatives. Prepare for and lead site Maintenance excellence meetings. Communicate Maintenance Excellence status to global engineering and participate in subject matter expert community of practice meetings. Provide technical expertise and support the Project Engineering function and Technical Review Process (TRP) during the design and installation stages of projects for new assets and modification of existing assets. Ensure the reliability and maintainability through the life of those assets by defining optimal maintenance life plans. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: B.S. in Engineering discipline. 5 years' prior maintenance experience in pharmaceutical industry 2 years' Experience utilizing lean and 6-sigma tools, such as DMAIC, 5 whys, FMECA, cause & effect diagrams Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Knowledgeable of cGMPs for area classification and environmental requirements for aseptic manufacturing facilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to function in an atmosphere of constant change with detailed accuracy. 6-Sigma black belt preferred. Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance techniques and programs Process equipment, process instrumentation and control loop, high & low voltage electrical, rotating equipment, and HVAC knowledge. Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly and easily learn new applications. Stay current on developments in the field and GSK-Bio Standards. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels within the organization as well as the skills to communicate site operations to outside agencies. Sense of urgency, flexibility and accountability. Ability to work in a high complex matrix environment. Must be able to provide leadership to generate options, resolve problems, prioritize solutions, select optimal solutions and implement decisions. Must be a committed team player prepared to work in and embrace a team-based culture. Ability to follow written procedures and document results in a neat and precise manner. Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service. Demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships cross functionally particularly with procurement, QA, QC, and production and the ability to analyze data and implement changes. Ability to lead the process to generate the exchange of ideas to resolve problems, prioritizes solutions, select optimal solutions, and implement decisions. Able to interact with peers, subordinate and senior personnel in multidisciplinary environment and the ability to work in a high complex matrix environment.
