Reliability Engineer

As a Reliability Engineer, you will identify opportunities for improvement through cost/benefit analysis and implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime. You will collaborate with plant resources to develop preventive maintenance programs, analyze failures, and implement sustainable solutions.
+ Identifying new opportunities & solutions with cost/benefit analysis & making recommendations to improve efficiency.
+ Revising & maintaining existing processes; developing & implementing WCM projects, managing & guiding contractors, consultants, & suppliers.
+ Assist in automation training of technicians, associated automation troubleshooting, & reduction in mean time to repair automation failures.
+ Provides input into planning & scheduling of projects & preparing expense & capital expenditures.
+ Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, & implementing assigned installation, maintenance & repair activities & coordinating with other departments to assure minimum downtime for production & maximum safety of employees.
+ Performs failure modes & effects analysis & implements sustainable countermeasures on losses related to downtime.
+ Progressively improves the Professional Maintenance status of all equipment on a prioritized basis using WCM techniques & ensures sustainability of completed improvements by the maintenance team.
+ Collaborates with Plant Resources (ex: Maintenance, Engineering, Production) to develop a Preventive Maintenance program that drives improved reliability & to coordinate any proposed changes.
+ Interacts with plant & corporate personnel to secure resources to plan & implement projects.
+ Develops & implements standard operating & maintenance procedures, & work instructions.
+ Ensures full documentation of all projects & systems to WCM &/or Project Management Office (PMO) standards.
+ Supports the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP.
+ Supports Autonomous Maintenance through training of operators & ensuring that equipment basic conditions are maintained. Provides training for operators & maintenance personnel.
+ Analyze/stratifies accurate data & information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc. in support of continuous improvement of reliability.
+ Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns & ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.
+ Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforces plant rules & safety regulations, & supports WCM initiatives.
+ Research, purchase, inventory, logistics & maintenance of Bill of Materials within the scope of reliability projects.
+ Development of detailed maintenance tasks & configured within our CMMS.
+ Performs other related duties & responsibilities as needed & / or requested by management.
+ Responsible for managing project costs within budget & assists in making recommendations for budgetary expenditures.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years’ experience as a Reliability Engineer or similar (preferred).
+ 3+ years’ experience repairing & troubleshooting plc & electrical equipment (Siemens & AB preferred).
+ Professional experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
+ Experience with P&ID, Equipment Layout Drawings, design optimization & troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of Continuous Improvement toolsets.
+ Excellent problem-solving capabilities & the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
+ Flexible & open-minded with good written & oral communication.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Experience working with a CMMS (SAP Preferred).
+ Must have the ability to read, write, & perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.
+ Knowledge of, or ability to understand operational excellence principles & tools, such as 5S, SMED, Kaizen, Six Sigma, & TPM.
+ CAD or AutoCAD skills &/or working knowledge of process engineering software.
+ Ability to diagnose & prioritize opportunities in areas of savings, throughput improvement, & yield improvement.
+ Must be able to design experiments & provide statistical analysis of those trials as to effectiveness.
+ Ability to solve practical problems & deal with a variety of changing situations.
