Avionics Reliability Engineering Intern

Do you want to work on state of the art Avionics hardware and systems? Do you want to help design safety critical products to be highly reliable and safe for our aerospace customers?

Then kick-start your career and work with industry leaders in Product Integrity and Avionics Engineering. You will use your Math and data analysis skills to analyze hardware and failure modes. You will be allowed to try to “break things and try to put them back together”!

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity

What You Will Do:

Perform Reliability Assessments, which includes performing reliability predictions to establish MTBF estimates and component failure rates.Perform Derating analysis, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Testability analysisPerform and oversee Accelerated Stress Testing (AST). Conduct failure reviews and help define corrective actions.Develop test procedures and reports.May perform Neutron Single Event Upset susceptibility analyses.May research new reliability engineering analysis and test methods for use with new technologies, including multi-core processors, SoPC's, various memory technologies and FPGAs.

Qualifications You Must Have

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience analyzing electrical/electronic components and semiconductor devicesEngineering degree seeking with an emphasis on Math and PhysicsExperience in technical writing (generating engineering procedures and reports)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Must be a commutable distance to Melbourne, FL to work an onsite schedule. This position may be eligible for relocation.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
