Remediation Practice Lead - Environmental Services (Multiple Locations)

Burns McDonnell is seeking a self-motivated, senior-level environmental remediation Practice Lead to join its team of talented and successful environmental professionals to lead and build its remediation practice in its Midwest Region. The Remediation Practice Lead will oversee sales, recruiting, business plan development, and growth plan for the region. Duties also include building an outstanding team, ensuring profitable and sound growth, leading sales marketing activities, maintaining quality safety programs, developing long-term strategic plans, providing risk management, developing outstanding client relationships, and serving as Project Manager on our key projects. The successful candidate should possess a diverse investigation and remedial design background, project/program management skills, and regulatory knowledge (RCRA/CERCLA and state-specific requirements for site investigation, remediation, and closure). Considerable experience with various remedial technologies is desired to optimize site closure. Experience in successful execution of subsurface and sediment investigations, including development of conceptual models is a plus. Existing client relationships are highly preferred. Travel is required and professional registration (PE or PG, and/or CP (OH)) is preferred.

Ability to leverage existing client relationships into future business opportunities is highly preferred.Assisting in the implementation of the strategic business plan to develop and expand the firm’s remediation practice within the Midwest region. This includes creating new project opportunities and expanding existing client relationships within the regional marketplace.Identifying and supporting the recruitment of key individuals necessary to grow the practice area and support key regional initiativesMarketing and business development responsibilities will be required and regular meetings and correspondence with clients, agencies, subcontractors, or outside personnel will be required.Responsible for preparing scopes of work, cost estimates and proposals for small and large investigation/remediation major projects.Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members and coordinate departmental project studies, reports, or project design assignments.Project implementation, QA/QC, project scheduling and budget management.Lead preparation of work plans, investigation reports, feasibility studies, remedial design, and implementation for both federal and state lead programs.Experience or understanding of data management tools and visualization models or technologies.Manage technical aspects of investigation and remediation projects, potentially including design-build or Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) approaches to remedial construction.Manage individual projects and supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.Participate in business planning and business development efforts to support the growth of the Columbus-based environmental practice across the Midwest.Other duties as assigned.
