Remediation Project Manager I
**40776BR** **Requisition ID:** 40776BR **Business Unit:** TSU **Job Description:** We are currently seeking a Project Manager to support a wide variety of environmental remediation, solid waste, and construction projects in the Southeast. The ideal candidate will need to be able to drive project scope, schedule, budget, and quality activities. The preferred candidate will have prior experience managing and working at Superfund and other contaminated sites, managing complex field programs, preparing planning and permitting documents, and preparing reports for environmental characterization, solid waste, and/or remediation projects. The preferred candidate will also have experience with evaluating remedial alternatives and engineering design of remedial approaches for contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater. As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: • Creating and driving scope, schedules, budgets and objectives for projects. Preparing detailed statements of work with associated work breakdown structures. Clearly communicating project deadlines, assignments and objectives to project team members. Assigning work and providing direction to project staff with regard to timeliness and completion of project objectives. • Maintaining liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization. Communicating directly with clients and/or agency stakeholders. • Working as a recognized leader of technical and professional staff. Planning, developing, coordinating, and directing several large and important projects or a project of major scope and complexity. • Directing the project work of a staff of typically 5 to 20 engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, and design engineers. Acting as a mentor to junior employees. • Acting independently on technical matters pertaining to your specialty field. Planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering or construction techniques, procedures, and criteria. • Ensuring adherence to company and project management policies, procedures and practices. • Managing project costs and being responsible for ensuring profitability. • Creating and reviewing timely client invoices with internal billing support and being responsible for ensuring timely client payment. • Performing subcontractor management and billing. • Performing ongoing review of project status. On an ongoing basis, monitoring project risks; identifying possible risks and recommending and implementing risk mitigation solutions. • Managing project change using change management protocols; determining appropriate changes or alternate paths based upon performance and metrics. Working in conjunction with team members and stakeholders to manage changes to requirements and schedule of the project. • Ensuring proper review of project scope by safety managers and proper implementation of safety plans. • Building, maintaining and managing strong client relationships. Ensuring client satisfaction by delivering quality, on-time project outcomes as a result of good planning and organizational skills; managing client expectations. • Support marketing and business development efforts related to remediation and Solid Waste projects. • Performing other duties as required. **Job Title:** Remediation Project Manager I **Group:** ESO **Employment Type:** Regular **Minimum Qualifications:** Bachelor's Degree. 4 years of related experience. PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list). Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. **Preferred Qualifications:** • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline. • Professional engineering (PE) license or registration as a licensed Professional Geologist, as certified by ASBOG, within the resident state.
