Remote Coding and Documentation Team Lead

Overview

The Coding and Documentation Team Lead works closely with the Compliance Manager, VP of Compliance and Physician Coding Advisor to develop and execute purposeful, highly accurate documentation and coding reviews and workforce training. This position will assist with project selection and parameters and will coordinate personnel schedules and network resources to efficiently and effectively meet project and team goals. Dedication to consistent professionalism and teamwork is required, as this position will serve as a resource to members of the Coding and Documentation Team and physicians, PAs and NPs. Occasional travel is required for on-site clinician EMR and coding training.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with the Compliance Manager, VP of Compliance and/or Physician Coding Advisor to develop goals and scope for routine and focused coding and documentation reviews.Works with members of the Coding Team to achieve project and department goals and objectives through development and execution of purposeful and highly accurate documentation and coding reviews.Addresses coding issues, questions, errors, and support cases through to completion in partnership with applicable Forefront Leaders.Serves as a resource for support service functional groups, clinicians, and clinic leaders for coding related questions and investigations.Leads the network in communication, training, and implementation of applicable coding changes and updates, including:Preparing for and actively participating in applicable management meetings.Ensuring company coding and documentation training materials and resources are up to date and accurate.Maintains current knowledge of the clinician role in NextGen PM and EMA EHR and monitors, assigns and personally participates in delivery of EMR and coding training, remotely and in-person, for clinicians joining the network.Provides management of team resources and personnel schedules in collaboration with the Compliance Manager, including:Creatively maximizing coding team efficiency, productivity, and teamwork.Hosting regular team meetings, communication, supervision, and direction in accordance with company philosophy, goals, and objectives.Personally acting as a resource and mentor for others, role modeling team work, positive response to change, and sharing of knowledge and expertise.Manages department schedules, PTO, and payroll in collaboration with the Compliance Manager.Assists with new employee interview process, on-boarding and training.Responsible for staff development and performance, addressing deficiencies and issues, and completing staff performance evaluations on time.Strictly adheres to company-wide policies and procedures.Completes and adheres to all company compliance training.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsDermatology coding certification, CPC or CPC-D or CDC required.CPR Certification is required per licensing requirements as applicable.Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.Minimum 2 years’ of work experience in dermatology / Mohs surgery or 5 years of related work experience is required.Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills in order to provide a quality training experience.Ability to train using a variety of systems and methods. Must be adaptable to a variety of learning styles and capacities, with the ability to demonstrate a consistently calm, positive, and encouraging demeanor. Ability to provide effective, constructive, and positive feedback to trainees, and respond positively to constructive feedback from others.Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.Must display a friendly cheerful, tactful and polite demeanor, and compassionate caring in dealing with others.Must demonstrate leadership by serving as an example to others with regard to professional appearance and behavior.Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.Must have proficient computer and typing skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.Additional Information

This role is fully remote, with some travel requirements for annual meetings. This role is Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm in employees time zone. The ideal candidate will have experience working in dermatology and/or clinic with at least one your of leadership experience. This role will oversee a team of 8-10 coders across the country.

This role is a direct hire permanent position, employees are offered, 401K, Health, Dental, Vision, 4 weeks of PTO. Additionally they offer a wide variety of growth opportunities internally.

Pay is Salary $76,000/annually

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
