Job Description
Responsible for the technical guidance and management of software development and commissioning managers. Focus on implementing site-based controls for new equipment within new or existing customer systems. Manage, develop, educate, and guide a team of controls commissioning managers. Define project scopes and schedules by working with members of the project management group to ensure schedules are on time, providing strong deliverables for controls, and tracking all the development and commissioning schedules for all projects. Work with the sales department to help answer questions from the technical expertise, hours, and schedules. Participate in code and design reviews to ensure that the solution meets the requirements and adheres to the established standards. Help to commission complex automated systems, provide site engineering support, and complete system acceptance testing as needed. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering.
ResponsibilitiesProvide technical guidance and management of software development and commissioning managers.Implement site-based controls for new equipment within new or existing customer systems.Manage, develop, educate, and guide a team of controls commissioning managers.Define project scopes and schedules by collaborating with the project management group.Ensure schedules are on time and provide strong deliverables for controls.Track the development and commissioning schedules for all projects.Work with the sales department to answer technical questions, hours, and schedules.Participate in code and design reviews to ensure solutions meet requirements and standards.Commission complex automated systems and provide site engineering support.Complete system acceptance testing as needed.Essential SkillsExpertise in software development and commissioning with PLC Programming in Rockwell Software.Proficiency in HMI Programming and FactoryTalk.Experience in sortation logic.Knowledge of input and output device design and implementation.Understanding of industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Devicenet, Profinet, etc.).Ability to develop scalable, high-performance, and secure software systems.Familiarity with database technologies and integration with software systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree or Master’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering or related field.Director-level experience is preferred.Experience with Rockwell Software, HMI Programming, and commissioning.Knowledge of material-handling equipment and parcel experience.Proficiency in Java, Python, and .NET.Work Environment
This position is remote with travel to Louisville for meetings with managers and executive leadership. Trips to Louisville are expected about once a month to join the VP visits. Travel will be higher at the start to gain experience with different customer operations. The ideal candidate should live within a four-hour travel time to Louisville. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $175000.00 - $200000.00
