Description: A REMOTE SolidWorks Model-Based Enterprise Senior Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time direct position with benefits. To be considered, you will need 2+ years of Model-Based Definition (MBD) application experience in Dassault's SolidWorks CAD platform. As a SolidWorks MBE Senior Engineer, you will execute tactical tasks as part of customer-aligned digital engineering delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
· Work will be performed remotely. Some travel to customer sites or internal meetings may be required (up to 25%).
· Execute tactical tasks as part of customer-aligned digital engineering delivery teams.
· Support the customer through baselining and documenting current-state MBD authoring, validation, and consumption standards, tools, and training
· Develop, test, and document MBD authoring best practices for Dassault SolidWorks CAD system to:
o Align with industry standards (ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.41, ASME Y14.47, QIF)
o Modernize 2D drawing approaches for MBD while accounting for all MBD data elements (geometry, annotations, metadata, product characteristics, view states, arrangements)
o Maximize downstream digital interoperability to facilitate automated consumption
o Comply with the end-user"s contractual requirements.
· Engage with software vendors in the evaluation, development, debugging, and evolution of MBD authoring and validation software
· Participate in pilots that explore definition approaches, manufacturing and inspection data re-use, machine and software interoperability.
· Develop guided training and mentorship for MBD authoring, validation, and consumption
· Develop and deliver internal and customer-facing presentations and documentation using MS Office and other methods for clear communication
· Be an active participant in the broader MBE ecosystem; maintain fresh knowledge of solution maturation and evolution; document external best practices and benchmarking; engage with technology providers, industry working groups (e.g. DMSC, ASME, PDES), CAD user groups (e.g. Dassault SolidWorks User Group), and standards development organizations
Required Qualifications:
· US Citizenship
· Bachelors Degree in a mechanical design or engineering discipline.
· 2+ years of Model-Based Definition (MBD) application experience in Dassault's SolidWorks CAD platform.
· Experience/knowledge of industry standards developed for, or supportive of MBD (ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.41, AMSE Y14.47, QIF, MIL-STD-31000)
· Experience/knowledge of MBD software landscape (CADIQ, Capvidia, Anark, Elysium)
· Experience/knowledge of MBD interoperable formats (3DPDF, HTLM5, STEP, QIF, JT)
· Possess a growth mindset with personal desire to learn and create solutions
· Strong ability to forward think when architecting solutions, embracing new technologies and process changes
· Strong communication skills and relating new concepts to others
· Ability to learn new technologies and identify applications to solve business challenges
· Experience working horizontally across functional organizations such as engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and information technology
· Ability to remotely collaborate with a team of experts based in various locations throughout the US
Desired Qualifications:
· Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance
· ASME Y14.5 GD&T Certification
· Experience/knowledge of SolidWorks programming
· Experience/knowledge of MBD application in CAD systems other than SolidWorks (CREO, CATIA and NX)
· Working knowledge of SolidWorks software license packages (Mechanical Routing, Electrical Routing, Tolerance Analysis, SolidWorks Inspection)
· Experience with Lean & Agile practices
· Experience managing culture changes including adoption and resistance to new ways of working in a digital engineering environment
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $95,000 to $130,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
