Description
This team is seeking a Medical Record Specialist to support the Patient Care Plan team. This person is expected to have great decision-making skills and is expected to show a passion for teamwork work. As a Records Management Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with the overall medical records management process. Key functions of this role will involve securing required medical records, patient chart audits, fielding medical records requests, and addressing billing issues related to missing/incomplete documentation. The ability to review and collect information in a thorough and detailed manner, as well as timely response.
+ Patient record review and chart audits to ensure required documentation has been secured.
+ Facilitate and manage necessary communication between the clinical team and the referring providers.
+ Organize and transmit necessary documents to referring providers validating and approving the plans of care constructed by the clinical team.
+ Ensure the prompt return of initial and recertified signed Plans of Care from referring providers
+ Ensure the prompt return of patient Consent to Treat documentation
+ Perform general business office work including answering phones, retrieving voice mail and returning calls to patients and providers.
+ Manage department fax and disseminate documents to the intended recipient.
+ Organize, scan, and/or save all paper and/or electronic documents received from outside sources into the EMR.
+ Review and update patient electronic records ensuring accuracy of information and identifying missing data.
+ Assist with special projects concerning Agency compliance and patient demographic data as assigned by the management team.
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00
