Remote Merger & Acquisition Coding and Documentation Specialist

he Team Lead – M&A Coding and Documentation works closely with the Compliance Manager, VP of Compliance and Medical Director of Compliance to develop and execute purposeful, highly accurate documentation and coding reviews and post-close training for partnering practices. This position will assist with project selection and parameters and will coordinate network resources to efficiently and effectively meet project and team goals. Dedication to consistent professionalism and teamwork is required, as this position will serve as a resource to members of the Integration and Compliance Teams, and physicians, PAs and NPs.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with the Compliance Manager, VP of Compliance and/or Medical Director of Compliance to develop and maintain the medical record review program, including:  Closely monitors and tracks due diligence review progress and provides frequent updates regarding status and outcomes to applicable Forefront stakeholders.  Utilizes resources in an efficient productive manner and collaboration with the Compliance Manager regarding resource needs.  Analyzes billing and/or collections data to identify notable trends and select a relevant sample of visit notes for the clinical quality and coding and documentation review.  Performs coding and documentation reviews and completes a written summary of the findings to share with applicable Forefront stakeholders. Partners with other Forefront Coders to complete large review projects, as needed.  Works closely with the Medical Director of Compliance to ensure completion of the clinical quality review.  Works closely with members of the Compliance and Integration Team to determine financial impact associated with the clinical quality and coding and documentation review findings.  Develops training and educational materials that address the findings from the due diligence coding and documentation review and shares with the partnership practice upon joining Forefront.  Performs coding and documentation re-reviews and provides additional / ongoing education after the partnership practice joins Forefront.  Acts as a point of contact for coding and documentation related questions for partnership practices until they convert to Forefront’s EMR systems.  Occasional travel may be necessary for gathering medical records for review and onboarding presentations when practices join Forefront.  When not working on medical record reviews, the Team Lead – M&A Coding and Documentation will support the Team Lead – Coding and Documentation to achieve project and department goals and objectives, including:  Completes routine and focused documentation and coding reviews.   Creates and maintains company coding policies and procedures, training materials, and resources. Ensures company coding and documentation training materials / resources are up to date.   Supports communication / training / implementation for any applicable coding updates.  Addresses coding issues, questions, errors, and support cases through to completion.  Serves as a resource to the organization for coding related concerns and investigations.  Maintaining current knowledge of the clinician role in NextGen PM and EMA EHR.  Acts in a manner consistent with company philosophy, goals and objectives. Promotes teamwork, positive response to change, and sharing of knowledge and expertise. Strictly adheres to company-wide policies and procedures. Completes and adheres to all company compliance training. Performs other related duties as assigned. QualificationsCPC, CPC-D or CDC coding certification requiredAAPC Auditing certification preferred (Applicants with experience in auditing and have like minded coding certifications can be considered)Minimum 2 years’ of work experience in dermatology / Mohs surgery / plastic surgery or 5 years of related work experience is required. Must have proficient computer and typing skills.Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Must be familiar with extracting data, running reports and working with pivot tables in Excel Additional Information

This role is fully remote, with some travel requirements for annual meetings. This role is Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm in employees time zone. The ideal candidate will have experience working in dermatology and or have experience in auditing. This role primarily focuses helping merge new sites and working to get the new physicians fully proficient in compliance requirements by running audits and educating physicians on errors.

This role is a direct hire permanent position, employees are offered, 401K, Health, Dental, Vision, 4 weeks of PTO. Additionally they offer a wide variety of growth opportunities internally.

Pay is Salary $64,000/annually

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
