Shift: Fully remote

M-F 9:30-6pm.

Description

Reviews requests for medical policy or prescription drugs that require a coverage determination based on pre-determined clinical criteria. Provides guidance to providers (doctors and nurses) as well as pharmacies with regard to pharmacy benefits, pharmacy claims, formulary, and pharmacy policy and procedures. Will not be talking to members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

3 years recent Pharmacy Technician experience that includes familiarity with drugs and drug categories, pharmacy benefits, pharmacy claims, and working with difficult customers in-person and via telephone; or 3 yearsPrior Authorization and pharmacy benefit experience at a pharmacy benefit company or health plan. Most important factor is being extremely comfortable with drug familiarity.6 months experience with computer systems in pharmacy services. Need to be able to pick up repeatable processes quickly.Registration as a pharmacy technician in Minnesota

Highly Preferred:

Completion of a Pharmacy Technician ProgramCertification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Once permanent, will work Saturday rotation (8am-4pm) once every 3-10 weeks (the frequency will depend on whether the team is fully staffed or not) and would be able to coordinate a day off that week (usually Monday). Once a permanent employee, will need to go on-site once per month to send letters.Specific systems used – MedHOK (web-based system) where they do majority of work in. Also use MedImpact (PBM). A bunch of HP specific programs. A little EPIC (view-only).

$24.66/hr for non-certified pharmacy technician. $25.66/hr

for certified pharmacy technician.
