Job Title: Remote Piping Project Engineer

Job Description

As a Remote Piping Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing piping system designs that meet code, contract, and schedule requirements for gas turbine power projects in the Americas. You will interpret and respond to technical inquiries from customers, vendors, and field personnel with minimal supervision and work closely with the parent company to establish timelines and obtain critical documents. You will also expedite subcontractors with respect to engineering and manufacturing matters and review progress reports and shop visits.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop piping system designs that meet code, contract, and schedule requirements.Interpret and respond to piping technical inquiries from customers, vendors, and field personnel.Integrate and improve design requirements from the parent company.Work closely with the parent company to establish timelines and obtain critical documents.Expedite subcontractors with respect to engineering and manufacturing matters.Review project contracts, schedules, and requirements to determine piping requirements, deliverables, and deadlines.Participate in project kick-off meetings and develop/maintain a master document list for the piping group.Review isometrics and other piping-related mechanical drawings.Review P&IDs and equipment drawings against piping drawings.Prepare piping component lists using P&IDs and reports out of 3D models.Extract reports out of piping 3D models (SP3D).Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformance and improve quality.Perform piping designs and have a general understanding of pipe stress analysis and pipe supports.Prepare inquiry and purchase specifications for piping fabrication, pipe supports, and piping hardware.Develop processes and procedures to ensure effective and optimized use of resources while providing high-quality design packages.Interface with EPC contractors, customers, parent, and affiliated companies in periodical meetings to ensure understanding of engineering matters.Follow up and resolve any pending items found during or after project execution up to the expiration of the warranty period.Assist the Application Engineering Group in reviewing and evaluating customer specifications.Protect company confidential information and maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering5+ years of directly related technical experienceExperience in developing piping system designsAbility to interpret and respond to technical inquiriesExperience in working with subcontractors and expediting engineering and manufacturing mattersAbility to review project contracts, schedules, and requirementsProficiency in preparing piping component lists and extracting reports from 3D models (SP3D)General understanding of pipe stress analysis and pipe supportsKnowledge of B31.1 and B31.3 CodesExperience in preparing inquiry and purchase specifications for piping fabrication and hardwareAdditional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of 3D modeling software packages (particularly SP3D)Familiarity with ASME Section II, PCC, MSS-SP, and PFI CodesFamiliarity with welding and NDE processesExperience in purchasing pipingExperience in communicating effectively with vendors and tracking project schedulesGood communication skillsPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00
