Job Description A client of Insight Global is looking for several Planning Engineers to join their team. The Engineers will work on a program looking to improve distribution systems reliability and limit the number of unserved customers during outages by deploying automated switches and completing upgrades across the distribution system. Responsibilities includes: - CYME model validation and load allocation for the Team - Proposing new ASDs to segment the circuits to the SOG Application Guide - Perform load flow and short circuit analysis -- i.e., normal configuration and contingency analysis. - Propose recommendations to resolve circuit load imbalances, overloads, over/under voltages, VAR needs, etc. - Identify equipment or capacity upgrade recommendations as warranted by the analysis - Run Planning and Protection meetings with Zone Planners and DPAC engineers presenting analysis results for each team. Skills and Requirements 3 years of experience within planning and analysis support for an Engineering & Asset Management teams Proficient in CYMDIST (CYME) or Synergi or ETAP. extensive experience utilizing the program to perform feeder analysis Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program Data collection utilizing standard tools (PI, FLPR, GE DORA, AcSELerator, etc.) Python and Microsoft Excel Macros coding experience Proficient in electric distribution system design engineering practices and principles.
