Job Description Salesforce is seeking an experienced Python Engineer to join our AI engineering and research team. This role focuses on data manipulation, RLHF annotation, and contributing to advanced AI product development. The ideal candidate will not only excel in Python programming and data science but also demonstrate strong practical AI development skills that bridge technical expertise with robust software engineering and business acumen. This position requires someone who can replicate the contributions of a highly successful consultant on our team, who has significantly impacted projects such as our voice AI agentscheduled for customer delivery later this yearand the ongoing improvements in the latency and cost-effectiveness of our AI knowledge retrieval product. Key Responsibilities:   AI Product Development:   Contribute to the development of our voice AI agent project and the AI knowledge retrieval product, ensuring these systems are robust, efficient, and scalable.   Identify and drive new avenues for enhancing AI components, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently without explicit guidance.   Data Pipelines & Workflows:   Develop high-quality code for data pipelines and workflows aimed at training large language models.   Perform complex data manipulations using Python, with a focus on processing and analyzing text data.   Cross-Functional Collaboration:   Work closely with a high-caliber AI team, leveraging both academic insights and practical experience to deliver state-of-the-art AI capabilities.   Communicate technical details succinctly and professionally to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.   Quality Assurance:   Ensure data quality and validation across all AI product components.   Adapt and refine AI approaches based on real-world product requirements and evolving business needs. The successful candidate will be expected to continue developing their software engineering skills and business acumen while leveraging a strong foundation in AI/ML. Skills and Requirements Proficient in Python and experienced with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).   Demonstrated experience in practical AI/ML applicationsability to apply academic knowledge to real-world product development.   Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.   Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts.   Initiative and self-drive, with a track record of identifying improvements and innovative solutions in AI components. Familiarity with prompt-engineering/tuning and experience working with large language models.
