Remote Solutions Architect (Front End)

There is a need for team expansion to bring on a front end (back of front end) focused Solutions Architect to be able to hit the ground running when this digital team has to very suddenly put out fires. There is hands-on keyboard type of work that they cant get to, and they constantly get surprised with compliance issues, cookie consents, legal accessibility, etc. This person needs to span across teams, drive solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders.
PURPOSE:
Senior IT Architect reports to the Application Development Manager or Application Development Director. The candidate makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous systems software engineering issues and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
The position responsibilities outlined below are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain the high-level design plan for the overall logical and technical IT architecture.
Provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level.
Demonstrate organizational commitment for all high-level infrastructure plans, and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans.
Fulfill the role as an execution leader in application software architecture and engineering.
Design, develop, test, debug and implement complex operating system components, software tools, and utilities.
Makes recommendations for modifications to existing software to fit specialized needs and configurations.
Establishes, communicates and executes common goals and directions for teams and provides direction and guidance for technical staff.
Integrate business-level processes and data within an enterprise and between organizations by linking applications, whether purchased or developed in-house, to better support business processes, reduce cycle times (or latencies), costs, and increase agility to respond quickly to new business opportunities.
Analyze, document, and understand the IT architecture, business processes and data that exist within the enterprise.
Provide guidance on the degree of integration necessary to optimize business processes and the correct architecture and enabling technology solution to achieve the integration.
Apply hardware engineering and software design theories and principles in researching, designing, and developing product hardware and software interfaces.
Provide architectural consulting expertise and direction to application development team.
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of development and operations.
Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end to end integrated systems.
Review new and existing IT projects, system designs, and procurement plans for compliance.

- Skills: Next JS, React
- Dependency remediation update libraries, update versions of platforms (the latest node, next JS version), big cleanup work (rewriting applications, retiring systems, advising on application remediation).
- 80% hands on NextJS dev, helping platform operations team with the pipeline, andt then will shift to more of a design role as fires come up (solutions focused). development at first, but then it could be more designing a solution to work
- Teams they will work with: web teams for the .com website (property website, account, authorization website/member profile/loyalty pages, booking flow).
