REMOTE - Technical Content Editor
Job Description An employer in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Technical Content Editor. This role will handle copy editing and proofreading as assigned for a significant volume of technically oriented marketing pieces, including application notes, white papers, protocols, brochures, handbooks, blogs, technical notes, video scripts, trade-show materials, scientific posters, and sales/training presentations. This position ensures these items adhere to strict scientific accuracy, as well as our brand style and trademark guidelines, while always employing accurate grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. This position requires an individual with a meticulous approach who can edit quickly and effectively, who isn't afraid to address challenging scientific subjects, and who can be adaptable enough to vary editing styles for differing client needs. This Content Editor will be sitting within the Group Marketing team and will be partnering and collaborating with Marketing Program Managers, design, and creative teams. This role can sit fully remote, ideally on the West Coast, must be able to work PST hours for first 6 weeks for training. Skills and Requirements 2+ years scientific copy editing background/experience Minimum of Masters degree in the life sciences - PhD strongly preferred. Knowledge of and familiarity with CSE Scientific Style and Format and Chicago Manual of Style guidelines, AP style acceptable Ability to quickly learn and integrate house style exceptions into above guidelines to adhere to proper branding Flexibility in editing style, from providing basic grammatical repairs to deep-dive editorial passes Preference for and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, ability to handle 3-4+ projects simultaneously and prioritize Attention to detail and high regard for quality Strong collaboration and customer service skills Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InCopy, and Microsoft Office Suite Copy editing certification (BELS) preferred null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
