Description:

Manages the nutrition care of clinic patients as well of other patients who rely on artificial nutrition support (enteral and parenteral nutrition).

Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans for patients with end stage renal disease.Manages the nutritional assessment and care of patients with end stage renal disease.Provides nutrition guidance and counseling to patients with end stage renal disease and candidates for transplantation, and their families.Provides nutrition expertise to physicians and other health professionals.Participates in activities that encompasses interdisciplinary care, Performance Improvement, promotion of health and/or or provision of nutrition education for the patients, family, staff and community.Responsible for dosing of renal medications and medication reviewsOther duties as assigned.

What you will need:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or verification statement from the American Dietetic Association confirming completion of DPD (Didactic Program in Dietetics) Requirements.Licensed in the state of Maryland.  (Includes 15 credit hours every year of continuing education).Active registration status with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.  (Includes 75 credit hours every 5 years of continuing education).Displays strong communication skills and ability to interact in a positive manner with physicians, patients, and families and other hospital staff.Demonstrates the ability to handle confidential information and situations.Experience in hospital clinical dietetics, preferred.
