Position Description

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 83,000 miles of pipelines and 141 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products.

We believe that fuels with a lower-carbon lifecycle, like RNG, are part of the solution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. With our more than 70,000 miles of natural gas pipeline systems that transport approximately 40% of the natural gas consumed and exported in the United States, we are uniquely positioned to transport RNG from coast-to-coast without making enhancements to our existing natural gas pipeline network.

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for Maintenance at an Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Processing Plant in Indiana

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain structural, mechanical and electrical equipment and/or auxiliary equipment at RNG Facilities.Technical ability to overhaul compressors, rotating equipment, vessels, tanks, flare, engines, turbines, motors, and auxiliary equipment.Provide training to other company personnel on proper operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.Perform engine/compressor performance analysis.Interpret lubricating oil, coolant and other operating reports.Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all RNG facilities and equipment as needed.Oversee/inspect the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.Maintain and control suitable spare parts inventory, tooling, etc.Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork as required.Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.Read and edit technical drawings to ensure all components work as designed in a broader RNG systemDemonstrate performance toward operational excellence.Maintain a regular, dependable attendance, and high level of job performance.Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.Liaison with Management and Operations in assuring regulatory compliance and outage/PM schedulesAvailable for weekend and after hours calls from on-duty personnel pertaining to equipment repairs and outages.Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concernsComplete daily, weekly and monthly reports, documentation and filing paperworkMust actively participate in safety programs and initiativesJob level and title will be commensurate with experience

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:
High School Diploma or equievalent

Experience/Specific Knowledge:
Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, company software, CMMS/Maintenance Software)Working knowledge of mechanical equipmentKnowledge and ability reading and interpreting blueprints and diagramsGood verbal and written communication skillsBe available for and provide emergency response after regular business hours which will require carrying a communication deviceLive within a reasonable proximity to limit after hour call out response times
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurersMay be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties and applicable to the job classificationCompletion of any site specific technical training may be applicable
Physical Demands:

Must be able to frequently, enter confined spaces, climb to and work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, stairwells, walkways, etc.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to withstand extreme weather condition

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Above the minimum requirements but adventageous in this position:
1-5 years of experience with RNG, industrial gases, or installation of installing or repairing mechanical and electrical systems or related componentsKnowledge of mechanical equipment, internal combustion engines, pumps, compressors, and related equipment.Knowledge of performance parameters and measurement techniques for mechanical equipment.Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams.Knowledge of and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high-pressure systems.Experience with industrial controls, computer and PLC controlsExperience analyzing, trouble shooting, adjusting, and making minor repairs on compressor engines, pumps and associated equipmentExperience in Maximo, OpsInfo and SCADAAbove average computer knowledge, and skills
