Renewable Procurement Project Coordinator

The Utility Scale (US) Project Coordinator (PC) facilitates the evaluation and interconnection of renewable energy facilities including US Request for Proposals (RFP) and Qualifying Facilities (QF). The PC also serves as the contract manager for winning projects from contract execution through commercial operation. In addition, the PC will serve as a Renewable Development subject matter expert related to the evaluation of risk, values of contractual terms and conditions, renewable and storage use cases, and serve as a point of contact for Resource Planning throughout the IRP process.
This role is responsible for the collaborative development, implementation and management of all US programs. This position works with large and diverse teams across various departments within Southern Company and externally to successfully implement US projects.
The Utility-Scale Team currently has a hybrid work schedule and works in the office (241 Ralph McGill) weekly on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
**_Job Duties & Responsibilities:_**
+ Acts as the project coordinator and primary point of contact for all US programs ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders meet the necessary requirements to fulfill contractual and construction obligations to customers, developers, and installers.
+ Support continuous process improvements including evolution of the RFP Handbook, Best Practices, Lessons Learned and other procurement processes as they evolve
+ Interface with the Independent Evaluator (IE) to ensure the IE website conforms to the RFP requirements and to address bidder questions and comments
+ Support contract compliance through administration and management for a portfolio of Utility Scale PPAs in conjunction with the Renewable Compliance and Reporting team
+ Provide regulatory support for the PPA certification process and the development and implementation of the Integrated Resource Plan
+ Foster and maintain strong working relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**
**_Education:_**
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, finance or other technical/business area of study preferred
+ Additional consideration given for master’s degree and/or relevant industry certifications (PE, CEM, PMP, etc.)
**_Experience:_**
+ Prior experience in renewables, analytics, project management, system planning and/or operations preferred.
+ Transmission planning, regulatory, asset management, PPA contract development and/or RFP processes is a plus.
+ Project management, contract development and/or asset management
+ Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to effectively interface with a wide range of stakeholders

+ Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to learn interconnection policies, program guidelines, and IA/PPA documentation for proper execution and administration of program requirements.

+ Ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts within large and diverse cross-functional teams
+ Ability to interface with regulators, industry peers, suppliers and internal stakeholders with deep understanding of the utility and energy space
