Infusion for Health is a referral-based infusion center that services all providers in multiple locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Colorado, and Missouri. Our company is continuing to grow and we're looking to add a Renewals Coordinator to support our patient care team. This is a full-time, onsite position at our Brea HQ.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The renewals coordinator is responsible for maintaining up to date medical records and prior authorizations in a patient’s chart for all returning patients. A renewals coordinator is also to provide seamless customer service to our patients and our providers and address any concerns or complaints they may have. They may also assist in scheduling and rescheduling appointments as needed according to company protocols and processes along with patient requests. As a renewals coordinator you are responsible for collaborating with other departments and the clinical staff to ensure accuracy and fulfillment of a patient’s chart.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma (GED) required, undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred.A minimum of 1 year prior experience in a medical office settingA minimum of 2 years prior experience in a authorization submission and patient schedulingStrong computer software experience - general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.Experience working with EMR systems requiredExcellent organizational skills a mustMust be able to type 50 wpmMust be able to use fax, copier, and scannerMust be willing to learn new equipment and processes quickly.Must be self-motivated and a team player to accomplish goals and metricsMust have proven customer satisfaction skillsMust be able to multi-taskStrong computer skills and attention to detail.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in ensuring charts for existing patients are complete and updated according to company protocols and processes prior to expected appointment datesHandles incoming and outgoing calls to and from patients and providersReview the accuracy and completeness of the information requested and ensure that all supporting documents are presentDate stamps all requests and highlights pertinent data to facilitate processingFollows up on requests for outstanding information required to complete patients’ charts.Performs quality checks on all work to ensure the accuracy of the release, confidentiality, and proper documentationProvides excellent customer service by being attentive and respectfulMay receive incoming requests including opening mail, telephone inquiries, and retrieving facsimile inquiries, depending on the needs of the client.Responsible to ensure files are accurate, filled out properly, organized, and secureCollaborate with other departments to assist in obtaining prior authorizations/appealsDocument all interactions with providers, patients, and insurance companies within the company systemCreate new medical records and retrieves existing medical records by gathering appropriate record folders and contents.Proactively work on prior authorizations that are due to be expiredAssists with scheduling appointments for existing patients as needed based on company protocols and processesSecure patients’ demographics and medical information by using discretion and ensuring that all procedures are in sync with HIPAA compliance and regulationCarries out responsibilities in accordance with client/site policies and procedures, including HIPAA, state/federal regulations related to operations, and labor regulationsConducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standardsCompletes all required duties, projects, and reports in a timely fashion on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis per the direction of the leadership.Other duties as assignedThe hourly pay range for this role is expected to be between $22-$26. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set.
