Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility Customer Services Organization is seeking a Repair Buyer to join our Order Management & Logistics Team.  You will be responsible for the order management and execution of the repair orders for our Light Rail Vehicles and Locomotives for the Aftermarket business segment.  

This position will work closely with suppliers issuing repair purchase orders and requesting return material authorizations to/from approved suppliers in order to maintain preferred stock levels. You will align with our Strategic and Order Management & Logistics Team to monitor supplier performance, supplier quality and standard lead times as we negotiate terms and conditions. This position will assist projects in driving Core Return Process at a tactical level.  This role can be located in New Castle, DE or Sacramento, CA and work a hybrid schedule.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Implement complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedite as needed and serve as liaison between vendors and users, getting prior approval for purchases in excess of established limits Resolve complex delivery, quality, or other related topics with purchases Work closely with the suppliers on necessary paperwork and information to request return material authorizationsWork closely with materials and warehouse personnel to ensure shipments to supplier are completed both systemically and physically in a timely mannerUpdate project plans and purchasing systems; review and analyze requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchasesDefine, communicate, and track scheduling, risk, change, opportunities, and resource managementGain alignment on project prioritization and requirements Track the vendor's progress against the original and/or revised schedule, regularly monitor and report open orders for confirmation ratio and delivery capability, monitor and report on delivery reliability and on time deliveryEnsure workflow turnaround time KPI for the core return processReview and target supplier delivery improvements and late order resolutionWork in conjunction with strategic category management, supplier quality, sales team, project logistics, and warehouse personnel toward improving total cost of ownership of products/services

To thrive in this role, you have:

Bachelor’s degree.  In lieu of bachelor’s degree, a combination of education and Siemens relevant work experience will be considered.Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience as a SCM / Buyer / Logistics.Experience with ERP.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, strongly proficient with Excel.Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.Ability to understand/communicate technical data with suppliers as well as internal personnel.Demonstrate success in applying complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization SCM.Excellent customer service skills.Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.Perform job duties with a sense of urgency.Ability to travel - 10% domestically.Setting you apart from other would be a bachelor's degree with experience with SharePoint and Power BI and /or Tableau, SAP, and certificates in SCM/Logistics.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.  The base salary range for this position in Sacramento CA or New Castle DE is $71,900 - $84,500.  The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
