Job Description

Who You'll Work With
As a Repair Operations Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with several key internal and external teams to ensure smooth operations and high-quality results. Your main collaborators will include: contract manufacturers and internally with manufacturing, mechanicals, test and quality engineers.

What You'll Do
You'll be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the repair operations to ensure timely and effective refurbishments.

Ensure Repair contract manufacturer executes upgrade and refurbishment of customer-returned productsOwn and drives key performance metrics for Repair operation: ECO/MCO implementation, repair volume, repair yields and effectiveness, repair lead times, BER (beyond economical repair), MRB and scrap rates.Manages Quality alerts and lead related activities with the Contract Manufactures.Ensure Engineering Change Orders and Manufacturing Change Notices are properly implemented in Repair, ensuring product is refurbished in compliance with Arista Bills of Material (BOMs) and Approved Vendor Lists.Drives NPI and TPI readiness for repair and QA: BOMs, repair processes, tooling and/or fixturesSupport day-to-day operations to ensure any impediments to achieving targets are alleviatedProvides technical support to manage quality issues and deviationsManages budget and inventory of capital equipment, tooling and fixtures to support Repair demand.Drive process efficiencies and operational improvements for repair flow.Maintain close communication and collaboration with the internal manufacturing, NPIE, FA, Test engineering and QA teams to drive best practices, efficiencies and capabilities for assembly, manufacturing and repair.Provide input for vendor Scorecard and Quality Business Review (QBR).

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering related field5+ years of experience in high-tech manufacturing (preferably networking equipment)Experience working with contract manufacturing partners.Experience in PCBA manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, and associated processesLean/Six sigma projects.Proven experience on driving improvementsUnderstanding of ERP systems and supply chain conceptsStrong understanding of product lifecycle management, including Engineering Change Order (ECO) management, Bills of Material (BOM) maintenance, and Approved Vendor Listing (AVL) adherenceKnowledge of test, diagnostics, failure analysis, repair and debug techniquesAbility to work cross-functionally, including ability to balance the technical and business aspects of hardware manufacturingSelf-starter who has the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentAbility to influence and motivate internal and external partners.Good oral and written communication in English.
