Procor Limited manages Canada’s largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network across the country. The fleet has grown to include more than 30,500 special purpose tank and freight cars. Procor also operates 27 repair locations servicing the petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers and food markets.

With a vision to be the North American leader in delivering value creating railcar repair solutions, it is our team of innovative and talented employees that drives our success. In pursuit of this journey, Procor is currently seeking a Repair Supervisor to join our Regina, Saskatchewan location.

Primary Responsibilities:

Fosters and sustains a successful and productive workplace for all employees by demonstrating a strong commitment to the organization’s cultural beliefs and purpose.

To use and teach the Daily Management System Tier 1 and Tier 2 process to uncover obstacles and identify lean tool usage opportunities, as well as facilitate actions with your team.

Ensure team understands Plant KPI’s and how they affect them.

Provide leadership and coaching to all direct reports.

Ensure safety, quality and production goals are met for the department(s).

Assign work for their department(s) to meet production schedule.

Evaluate employee performance including probationary employees.

Ensure employees have required certifications.

Ensure all work is performed to regulatory and customer standards.

Consistently and fairly enforce contractual requirements, shop rules and policies.

Hold daily Toolbox Meetings to keep your workforce knowledgeable

Provide accurate reporting of labor and material supplemental repairs.

Comply with CBA.

Ensure employees have training and required certifications including A11 and PPE safety certifications.

Lead and facilitate Toolbox meetings to you ‘workforce’.

Manage supply spend and waste

Conduct 30-, 60- and 90-day performance evaluations on employees.

Perform hold point inspections.

Manage and communicate employee attendance and points coaching.

Assign labour schedule with their department.

Ensure operator daily maintenance.

Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Expertise:

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Working knowledge of railcar repair techniques, AAR and DOT rules and regulations would be an asset.

Familiar with relevant railcar standards and regulations published by AAR, CGSB, DOT, BOE, FRA as well as Canadian TDG Act and regulations would be an asset.

Railcar Repair experience would be an asset.

Previous experience in railcar repair facility management.

PC proficient in a Windows environment - familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint

Valid Driver’s license required.

Must be able to work in an environment with continuous exposure to outdoor weather conditions with dust, fumes, and noise.   Must be able to climb, stoop, and bend repeatedly, work in confined spaces, carry hand and power tools, and pass company physical including pulmonary function and drug screen.
