.The Repair Technician is responsible for inspecting and repairing multiple customer ophthalmic instruments. This also includes repair and inspection of returned products, loaner inventory, and show units and providing technical support to call center and internal teams. Have previous knowledge of medical equipment preventative maintenance. This customer-focused role supports both customers’ needs and company policies. Focusing on time management, critical thinking, quality, and being able to work under minimal supervision. Must be proficient at written communication, i.e., estimates and follow-ups within internal protocols. This position is required to be on-site at our Oakland, NJ headquarters.

Job Duties:

Manage assigned work orders to be closed in a timely manner.

Diagnose and repair high tech medical equipment and instrumentations.

Prepare and inspect loaner devices.

Provide technical assistance to the customer service team regarding equipment maintenance/repair.

Work under minimal supervision.

Escalate unresolved issues to management.

Document service/repair actions by completing forms, reports, and logs.

Update job knowledge by participating in inner company educational opportunities.

Establish rapport with customers by examining complaints and providing solutions, if needed.

Qualifications:

Associates degree or greater in relevant field.

Experience in electronics, mechanical, and/or optical troubleshooting.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and quickly analyze and resolve specific problems.

Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.

Must hold a current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license.

Knowledge of medical device preventative maintenance and repair.

Quality focused with a commitment to excellence.

Proficient written & verbal communication skills.

The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds.

The ability to often bend, stoop, twist, sit, stand, walk, move boxes and equipment, package and re-package equipment throughout the work day.
