**Job Title: Repair Technician**
**Job Description**
The company manufactures and supplies braking systems, passenger doors, and climate-control equipment for Mass Transit companies. The Repair Technician will perform repairs or overhaul of pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment. You will start by assisting mainly in the assembly and repairs of brake systems, with training and certification opportunities to work on HVAC systems.
**Responsibilities**
+ Disassemble equipment and clean as needed.
+ Perform initial evaluation and inspection of equipment as assigned, providing feedback on parts and labor needed for repair.
+ Document evaluation findings and generate a Technician Evaluation Report.
+ Route wires and install crimp terminations and/or connectors.
+ Test and record results for subassemblies and assemblies.
+ Perform component level and some system level testing as instructed.
+ Interpret readings of gauges, indicators, and dials.
+ Assist in testing equipment and recording test results.
+ Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on equipment as instructed.
+ Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment, ensuring compliance with company's rules and policies.
+ Comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines, and regulations.
+ Maintain and safeguard business records.
+ Troubleshoot pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience using hand and power tools.
+ Mechanically and electrically inclined.
+ Ability to read and follow diagrams and written instructions to perform assemblies and repairs.
+ 3+ years of relevant experience.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Mechanical aptitude: equipment maintenance, mechanical inspection tools and tooling.
+ Time management to ensure equipment is ready for scheduled repair or overhaul.
+ Problem-solving and decision-making guided by policy, routine, and procedures.
+ Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word (data entry and report writing).

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, etc. The maximum lifting/carrying weight is 50 lbs. The position is based in a shop environment with a shift from 5:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Thursday (Friday and overtime when available).
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union City, California.

The pay range for this position is $25.62 - $25.62
