+ Reporting news stories: Researching, interviewing sources, and gathering information for news stories. + Shooting video: Operating camera and audio equipment to capture footage of events and interviews. + Editing video: Assembling footage using non-linear editing software, adding graphics, and editing the story to a broadcast-ready format. + Writing news copy: Crafting clear and concise written reports to accompany the video footage. + On-air presentation: Delivering news reports live or pre-recorded on television or other platforms. + Story pitching: Identifying potential news stories and presenting them to newsroom management. + Social media engagement: Sharing stories and interacting with viewers on social media platforms + Self-sufficiency: Often working independently, you are responsible for all aspects of your story production from start to finish. + Adaptability to different platforms: Reporters need to tailor their stories for various media outlets including television, online, and social media. Requirements & Skills: + Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience + Fluency in English + Excellent communication skills, both oral and written + Adobe Premier knowledge + Minimum two years’ experience in news reporting + Superior on-air presence + Valid driver’s license with a good driving record + Flexibility to work any shift #LI-Onsite Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
