Reporter I, MultiMedia Journalist
Nexstar Media Group
KGET/Telemundo in Bakersfield has an opening for a journalist who wants to make a difference in the community they serve.
We’re Market 125. We’re 90 minutes north of L.A., with a reputation of hiring good people and making them great. This is a nurturing environment in which young reporters are coached and supported by a team of editors, artists and producers.
Here, you will pitch your own story ideas. You will report, write and edit your own work and then review and massage it with a team of experienced mentors.
Journalists who get a couple years experience here collect their awards and move to San Diego or Vegas on their ways to NY or LA. A couple have gone straight to Market 1 or 2.
We pride ourselves on smart news, the kind of thoughtful, relevant stories that make us the station of record.
Drop me a line at michaeltrihey@kget.com Put ``MMJ`` in the subject line. Then maybe you can drop in and see us.
Thanks
