This will be a hybrid role based out of the Columbus, OH office. The team will come into the office for collaboration 3 days a week, Tuesday - Thursday. There is also a monthly rotational week for someone on the team to be in office all five days.

As a Rep, you’ll be responsible for performing operational functions in support of Nationwide Securities’ broker-dealer mission. You’ll use our retail brokerage platform, as well as other non-brokerage systems and products, to provide excellent customer service to our retail customers and internal and external business partners.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Processes new business and post-issue transactions for all supported lines of business. Demonstrates proficiency with the check handling procedures and security requirements. Ensures all physical and electronic applications, paperwork and checks are accurately and quickly processed each day.

Ensures all work is completed according to firm procedures, rules and service level agreements. 

Provides “Not in Good Order” support to resolve customer inquiries and facilitate transaction processing. May require research of complex issues and interaction and follow-up with clients and internal and internal and external partners.

Completes data entry with a high level of accuracy and speed. Maintains a strong working knowledge of current products, internal operational procedures and systems.

Processes post-issue or account maintenance requests including, but not limited to, address changes, death notifications, returned mail, debit sell outs and other requests and requirements.

Processes all brokerage ACAT and non-ACAT transfers in and out. Reviews transfer paperwork for completeness, clarity and format. Monitors pending transfer requests and performs follow-up with clients.

Ensures firm books and records are accurate and complete by reconciling carrier data to against electronic client records.

Provides direct and indirect support and acts as back-up to the Broker-Dealer Service team, helping fulfill requests and inquiries and provide direct assistance during times of high call volume. 

Helps with completing reporting requirements according to procedures and audit or compliance requirements.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager and does not have direct reports. 

Typical Skills and Experiences:


Education: High school studies, undergraduate studies in business or finance preferred.

Experience: One year of year financial operations experience with solid understanding of the financial services, broker-dealer and securities marketplace desirable.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of insurance or financial business processes. Non-standard or extended work may be required based on project needs. Ability to operate a personal computer and business software.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. 

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
