The Resale Associate assists customers and volunteers with consignment functions to provide excellent customer service. Communicates effectively with contractors, property managers, customers and volunteers to demonstrate knowledge of shop operations and to meet performance goals. Performs all duties related to daily sales and activities required for efficient store operations. Performs tasks associated with data and financial management, as directed by the supervisor, to ensure the security of funds, inventory and to meet fiduciary responsibility. Supports store managers in training volunteers in functions appropriate to their service and abilities. 

Job Responsibilities 

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (9:00am-5:00pm) ; Tuesday, Thursday (9:00am-3:00pm) ; Every Other Saturday (9:00am-3:00pm) 

 

Processes consignments efficiently by posting, pricing and ticketing merchandise according to established procedures. Determines pricing, acceptability and general conditions of merchandise presented for consignment; Rejects unacceptable items and assists volunteers with these decisions. Assists consignors with reclaims, exercising tact and skill. Resolves routine questions capably and professionally while escalating complex or unusual issues to supervisor. Provides information and support to assist managers to achieve smooth store operations and excellent service. Helps to maintain all office/shop equipment while ordering needed supplies. Operates registers and other sales equipment/systems including functions to maintain equipment operation and to correct minor errors/disruptions. Follows all established procedures to safeguard cash, reconcile sales, make bank deposits and close out daily receipts. Opens/closes shop by following identified procedures. Performs tasks associated with bookkeeping functions and production of daily and end of month reporting. Confirms that funds and inventory are properly safeguarded – especially upon opening and closing the store. Works with supervisors to establish consistent training regiments to train new volunteers in routine store activities. May perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements 

Experience - 2 years of relevant experience (Customer Service or Retail experience preferred)

Education - High School diploma or equivalent
