Employment Category Limited Duration Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Research Analyst 1 position for the College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University ( OSU ). This is a limited duration appointment expected to last approximately 6 months from the appointment begin date. This research support position will conduct data processing and archiving, and create figures for manuscripts as needed by the Thwaites Glacier research project overseen by E. Pettit. Why OSU? Key Responsibilities 70% Use Matlab and Python to analyze ice-penetrating radar data, including basic processing, archiving, and creating figures for presenting the data. 30% Support data organization and code management for radar systems. What We Require Two years of experience in research work. The experience must show the gathering of data from various sources; the tabulating or classifying of data into prescribed formats, forms, or reports; and the using of computers to retrieve, edit, or tabulate data; OR An Associate’s degree with courses in research methods or statistics and basic computer concepts. What You Will Need + Proficiency with Matlab and Python. + Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity within a collaborative team. What We Would Like You to Have + Bachelors degree in physics, geophysics, geology, or related subject + Experience using Matlab to analyze ground- or ice-penetrating radar data. + Familiarity with the Thwaites Glacier and related ongoing research projects. + Familiarity with the process of collecting ice- or ground-penetrating radar data. + Familiarity with Github for code sharing and version control. + Experience being a collaborator on a research team.
