We are looking for a Research Analyst to track, analyze, and report on market conditions and trends in the Richmond and Norfolk, Virginia markets. The role supports sales professionals and their clients for office, industrial, and retail properties, with occasional ad hoc support on multifamily housing. The position can be based in either Richmond or Norfolk, includes a hybrid schedule (in-office versus work-from-home), and requires some time in the opposite office. For example, if a candidate were based in Richmond, that individual would need to report to the Norfolk office, ideally monthly. What You'll Do: •Be engaged in a fast-paced environment. •Be responsible for collecting, analyzing and creating content of actionable, commercial insights. •Cover the office, industrial, and retail markets in Richmond and Norfolk. •Communicate trends and market intelligence through published quarterly reports, as well as trend reports, presentations and other deliverables that position CBRE as the dominant voice in the industry and market. •Use CBRE’s proprietary research database to manage real estate market data. •Support new business development initiatives and client engagement by developing nuanced, customized analysis and materials in support of investment and location decisions. •Provide data collection and analysis on the local market for global, regional and local research initiatives as needed. •Be adaptable to multiple internal and external constituencies: Mid-Atlantic leadership, Americas Research leadership, sales professionals, and clients. •Joins managers in giving formal presentations of trends to internal sales professionals. •Performs other duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. •Bachelor's Degree in economics, finance, business administration or related field of study, plus 2+ years of related experience. •Identify and track commercial real estate supply and demand trends. •Knowledge of the real estate market; knowledge of Southern Virginia real estate market a plus. •Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and the ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and weighted averages. •Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and formulas •Proficiency in PowerPoint. Strong presentation skills are a plus. •Proficiency in MS Word, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Strong organizational skills, and the ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to clients.
