Job Title: Research and Development Technician

Job Description

We are hiring for a Research and Development Technician in the Chicago, IL area. This role involves working closely with Sr. Scientists to support multiple projects simultaneously. You will be responsible for preparing and testing various materials, maintaining lab cleanliness and organization, and updating reports in an electronic lab notebook. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative battery technology and work alongside expert scientists in a rapidly growing company.

ResponsibilitiesSupport Sr. scientists in multiple projectsWeigh and mix powders, load them into the furnacePrepare slurries for testingMaintain a clean lab space, including glassware, crucibles, and other equipmentOrganize the lab with proper naming and labeling systems for all samplesUpdate reports into an electronic lab notebookOperate small-scale R&D equipment such as hot plates, stir plates, tube furnaces, and pH metersQualificationsBachelors degree in the Sciences (Chemistry preferred)Experience working in a chemistry lab with exposure to corrosive, toxic, flammable, water reactive, and powder hazards (minimum 2 years)Experience with fume hoods and glove boxes is a plusKnowledge of chemistry lab equipment such as pH meters, hot plates, stir plates, and tube furnacesUnderstanding of chemical hazards/ chemical handling experience, experience with acids, bases, solvents, etc.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
