JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Community Outreach, Research, and Evaluation (CORE) at Penn State Behrend is seeking a motivated candidate to serve as the full-time Research and Evaluation Coordinator. Primary responsibilities for this position will include implementation of activities within the Research and Evaluation arm of CORE, including quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, and database management. Strong writing skills are required due to the position’s involvement in grant writing and evaluation report writing. This position will also assist in the development of quantitative and qualitative experimental designs, and survey/assessment development. The successful candidate will possess training and experience in both quantitative and qualitative experimental methods, and strong data analysis skills using SPSS (required). The successful candidate should be proficient in correlational (e.g., multiple regression) and experimental (e.g., ANOVA) designs. Familiarity with path analysis and longitudinal techniques (e.g., Structural Equation Modeling, Hierarchical Linear Modeling) is desired. The successful candidate should also excel in interpersonal communication and team building, be comfortable working independently, and have an interest in working with youth to promote positive youth development. Ability to conduct qualitative focus groups and a demonstrated background in social sciences is preferred. This is a one-year staff position with excellent chances of renewal, and reports to the Associate Director of Research and Evaluation at CORE. This position requires a bachelor's degree, master's preferred, and 3+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CORE recently moved into a brand new, $6.5 million, 12,000 square foot building at Penn State Behrend in April 2022. CORE is part of The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (H&SS). H&SS has about 65 full-time faculty members, offers nine bachelor’s degrees (Communication; Creative Writing; Digital Media, Arts, and Technology; Elementary and Early Childhood Education; English; General Arts and Sciences; History; Political Science; and Psychology) and one master’s degree (Applied Clinical Psychology). The school is also home to Global Cultures and Languages and the Arts.
