The department of Medicine, division of Infectious Diseases, has an exciting opportunity for a temporary, part-time Research Assistant 1. The Research Assistant contributes with research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols. Further, the Research Assistant performs a clerical role to ensure the smooth operations of office facilities.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus and makes minor repairs.Prepares correspondence and answers phones.Formulates and maintains bibliographies and completes applications and forms.Orders laboratory supplies and maintains culture media reagents.Reviews and edits various materials for publication, and prepares publication schedules.Maintains appropriate logs, records, and study notebooks.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 1 year of relevant experience

Department Specific Functions

Assists with study recruitment, screening, schedule participants, study visits and assessments activities of different research projects.                                                                                   Record research procedures and report results. Maintain and updated records, codes data for input electronic data processing inputs and retrieves data electronically.                                                 Performs various clerical duties including typing, answering phone calls, preparing, and maintaining bibliographies, and completing applications and forms. Maintains appropriate logs, records, and study notebooks.                                                                            Attends and participates in meetings, conferences, and training groups as requested.                          Perform inventory of clerical, clinical and laboratory supplies and prepare kits accordingly to the requirements of each study as needed.                                                                                        Reviews and edits various materials for publication and prepares publication schedules.Reviews the medical chart for patient’s vital signs, including weight, temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure and any other data required by the study protocolsReviews the medical chart for patient’s vital signs, including weight, temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure and any other data required by the study protocols
