Research Assistant
We are seeking a **_Research Assistant_** who will participate in research software development, including ask requirements collection functions design and program coding, and software implementation and maintenance; Perform application and research programming work in natural language processing; Develop, train and evaluate large language models; Develop software systems for data acquisition and annotation; Participate in appropriate software maintenance and support. **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** + Perform as a member of the development team at Center for Language and Speech Processing, a highly ranked center for computational linguistics and natural language processing. + Develop frameworks for annotating and working with data, developing novel NLP systems, training and evaluating large language models. + Establish and meet appropriate goals and milestones research software development process, and appropriately test, evaluate and document the developed software. + Collaborate with, aid, and support other team members utilizing this software and derived products. + Internal & external contacts required as part of the job, + students, faculty researchers. **Special Skills & Knowledge** + Must have some experience in natural language processing, large language models and medical data. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. + Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. **Preferred Qualifications** + Master’s Degree in computer science or related discipline.
