Research Assistant

Job Summary

This part-time (up to 15 hours per week) position involves assisting with the recruitment, screening, scheduling, and monitoring/retention of approximately 100 participants in an 18-month research trial. The study examines the physiological and behavioral consequences of weight loss among individuals with obesity. The research assistant will accompany participants during several intensive measurement periods held throughout the project. The position also includes data entry and monitoring compliance with IRB guidelines, data safety and monitoring protocols, and NIH progress reports.

Essential Functions

Are detail-oriented, punctual, reliable, and diligent. Are comfortable working in a face-paced and sometimes demanding environment.  Preferably have a background in psychology or biology. Can work varying hours week to week, up to a maximum of 15 hours per week.

Required Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Degree in psychology, biology or related fields desirable Minimum of a year of an experience.

Additional Information 

This is a Part-time temporary position classified as non-exempt.  The pay offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
