Placenta Donation / Women's Health Job Summary This position will primarily support patient engagement, chart review, and overall coordination of placental tissue donation within Butterworth Labor & Delivery in Grand Rapids, MI. As part of a small team, tissue donation / research staff work closely together with nurses, physicians, phlebotomists, and other delivery unit staff to screen patients for eligibility, engage moms before or after delivery, obtain informed consent for donation, collect medical history and risk questionnaires, coordinate blood draws for safety testing, coordinate tissue release, and thoroughly and compliantly document the process. Essential Functions + Support research programs that impact our local pregnant moms within the delivery and post-partum / mother-baby spaces of Butterworth hospital. + This position will be part of the Biobank research team. + Experience working in clinical areas, understanding of medical terminology, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with obstetrics are strongly desired. Qualifications Required + Associate's Degree or equivalent in a health, science, business or computer related field. + CRT-Shipping and Handling of Specimen Training-Certification - UNKNOWN Unknown 90 Days + CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days Or + CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days Preferred + 1 year of relevant experience with medical records data extraction + 2 years of relevant experience with patients in a clinical setting About Corewell Health As a team member at Corewell Health, you will play an essential role in delivering personalized health care to our patients, members and our communities.
