Research Assistant
We are seeking a **_Research Assistant_** who provides research and computer programming support in the Chen Lab in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences. This position is a casual/on-call position subject to the availability of funds. Weekly work hours will not exceed 27 hours per week. The candidate should have a background in neuroscience, psychology, or cognitive science, and computer science, and be willing to work for 12 hours per week. **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** + Under the supervision of the faculty PI and researchers in the lab, this position will work closely with researchers to perform technical research and research-related computer programming tasks, including but not limited to, + Designing web interfaces for human behavioral experiments. + Executing online data collection, eg.g., via MTurk and Prolific. + Statistical analysis of human behavioral data. **Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** + Proficient in web-based programming languages (e.g., Javascript) and programming for data + analysis (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB). + Basic knowledge of lab protocols. + Ability to work independently as well as part of a research team. + Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills to interact with members of the lab. + Ability to keep detailed and organized records required. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. + Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. **Preferred Qualifications** + Previous experience in a research lab environment preferred but not required.
