The Research Assistant (RA) directly supports primary care and community-based clinical research studies funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Work on a research team composed of the Principal Investigator (PI), Project Coordinators (PC), Research Assistant, and student research assistants.

Work closely with the study PC to recruit and enroll area practices and participants.

Manage retaining participants, obtaining informed consent with the PC and performing data collection, data entry, and other identified day-to-day project activities.

Recruit, enroll, and facilitate informed consent for area practices and participants in study.

Oversee data collection and entry as well as the day to day project activities.

Participate in substantial travel to local area clinical practices and participant visits.

Unless there are extenuating circumstances, use the study car for travel to community-based sites, complying with GU policies for such anticipated expenses.

Work Interactions

Activities performed by the RA will directly support the progress of the projects. RA may need training on various GU applications, such as Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap), to record project activities. The RA will report to the PC and PI on all activities and attend project meetings.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree; Bachelor’s degree in health or science-related field is preferred but not required

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Complete and maintain human subjects protection, HIPAA, and ICH Good Clinical Practice training certifications upon hire

Exceptional interpersonal skills with a detailed-oriented and analytical background

Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills

Must be comfortable working independently and in the community

Knowledge of research methods will be helpful

Consideration will be given for a combination of education and experience

Ability to speak Spanish is helpful

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
