Job Summary
To provide support to the Director of the Center, or Principal Investigator/Study Coordinator in all appropriate functions related to the conduct of a research investigation.
Responsibilities
Administrative/Regulatory 50%
• Primarily provide support to the research team, comprising the research director, investigator
and/or study coordinator
• Process and organize new protocols and assist in preparing IRB and grants documentation for
institutional approval, including revisions, addendums, renewals and signatures/approval as
directed.
• Document that IRB has been notified of a protocol change that is administrative or significant;
confirm all IRB approvals.
• Assist researchers in preparing documents for institutional grants and research office and for IRB.
• Maintain accurate filing specific to each study and be able to track original and subsequent activity
as well as approval documentation.
Research Study Management 35%
• Assist with informed consent and subject/patient enrollment
• Process and organize new research-related information and data.
• Collect data from the medical record, populating research data collection forms
• Collect and manage data needed per study. Includes creating surveys, scanning surveys, cleaning
data, analyzing data, generating reports, and creating graphs or tables.
• Maintain and organize all required records, data, reports, and statistics per study.
• Assist in the preparation of grant applications and editing of articles and manuscripts.
• Search scientific journals for information.
• Verify and check data.
Physician and Patient Communication 10%
• Communicate findings/results to interested groups, Project Director and/or Principal Investigator.
• Under the direction of the PI and/or the research coordinator, may communicate with
patient/subject and/or subject’s family.
Teamwork/Development 3%
• Serve as an ancillary research team member integral to trial success
• Participate in departmental and study meetings as directed
Business Development 2%
• Depict a professional image and competence in relation to our sponsors and investigators with a
goal of increasing the likelihood of repeat business.

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)
The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Education
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Experience: Bachelor's Degree and strong interest in research or medical research-related field Substitution: Associate degree may substitute for Bachelor’s degree if related experience
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Experience: 1 YEAR Related Experience. Experience &/or interest in maintaining the animal lab- preferred. Substitution: Associate degree in related field of research dep. on may substitute for Bachelors degree and 1 yr related exp. Experience: 1 YEAR Related Experience. Experience &/or interest in maintaining the animal lab- preferred. Substitution: Associate degree in related field of research dep. on may substitute for Bachelors degree and 1 yr related exp.
